  • Estrogens

  • Thyroid hormone

  • Pregnancy

  • Estrogen-containing preparations

SHGB levels are decreased by the following:

  • Androgens

  • Synthetic progestins (norethindrone, norgestrel, desogestrel, norgestimate)

  • Glucocorticoids

  • Growth hormone

  • Insulin

  • Obesity

  • Acromegaly

  • Hypothyroidism

  • Hyperinsulinemia
