The coagulation profile may reveal normal prothrombin (PT) and activated partial thromboplastin (aPTT) times, fibrin split products, and fibrinogen levels. Rule out associated disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). DIC is rare, unless there is an associated abruption.
