What are the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Physical Activity Guidelines for children and adolescents?

Children and adolescents should engage in 60 minutes (1 hour) or more of physical activity daily. Most of that should consist of either moderate- or vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity. On at least 3 days a week, children and adolescents should engage in the followinf forms of physical activity:

  • Vigorous-intensity
  • Muscle-strengthening
  • Bone-strengthening
