The KDIGO guidelines suggest not treating with corticosteroids combined with cyclophosphamide or azathioprine unless the patient has crescentic IgA nephropathy with rapidly deteriorating kidney function. [30]  Use of mycophenolate mofetil has been controversial, as studies have been small in size and studies have reported negative results. [23, 36]  The KDIGO guidelines do not recommend use of mycophenolate mofetil. [30]
