Acute sinusitis is a clinical diagnosis. However, the evaluation might include the following laboratory tests [2] :

  • Nasal cytology

  • Nasal-sinus biopsy

  • Tests for immunodeficiency, cystic fibrosis, or ciliary dysfunction
