Modifying sexual behavior helps reduce the incidence of infection. Patients should avoid sex until drug therapy is completed and all symptoms have disappeared. [57] Treatment of the patient’s partner is crucial for minimizing reinfection. Thereafter, consistent use of condoms and other barrier contraceptives reduces the chance of infection.
