Mild-to-severe eye complications can occur, such as the following:

  • Lid edema
  • Persistent dry eyes
  • Chronic photosensitivity
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Keratitis
  • Conjunctival fornix foreshortening
  • Ectropion or  entropion with subsequent  trichiasis
  • Symblepharon
  • Anklyoblepharon
  • Corneal ulceration,scarring or neovascularization
  • Blindness
  • Bronchiolitis obliterans
