More than 220 different medications have been suggested. The most commonly implicated agents include the following:

  • Sulfonamide antibiotics

  • Antiepileptic drugs

  • Oxicam nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs

  • Allopurinol

  • Nevirapine

  • Abacavir

  • Lamotrigine

Fewer than 5% of patients report no history of medication use.
