Prevention of re-infestation with body lice can be accomplished by ensuring that infested clothing, bedding, and towels were appropriately laundered with hot water (at least 130°F) and then dried in a dryer using a hot setting to destroy the lice, improving the individual’s hygiene, regularly laundering clothing, and changing to clean clothing at least weekly.
