Other problems to be considered include the following:

  • Thrombotic nonbacterial endocarditis

  • Vasculitis

  • Temporal arteritis

  • Marantic endocarditis

  • Connective tissue disease

  • Fever of unknown origin (FUO)

  • Intra-abdominal infections

  • Septic pulmonary infarction

  • Tricuspid regurgitation
