MRI, scintigraphy, and CT scanning can all be used to demonstrate bone involvement. Immunosuppression was not a risk factor. Affected patients responded well to therapy without significant long-term effects. In a case report, a child with osteomyelitis and epidural extension confirmed by polymerase chain reaction responded to intravenous clindamycin and gentamicin. [53]
