Approximately 50% of patients also experience systemic symptoms. These might include the following (see also Table 1, below):

  • Malaise/fatigue (29.4%)

  • Fever (28%)

  • Anorexia (14.5%)

  • Headache (13%)

  • Sore throat (7%)

  • Arthralgia (2.5%)
