Pancreatic function can be measured directly by using endoscopy or the Dreiling tube method after stimulation with secretin or cholecystokinin (CCK). Direct pancreatic function testing is the most sensitive approach to assessment of exocrine pancreatic function and is usually performed at specialized centers.
