Pleuropulmonary synovial sarcoma is rare, comprising only 0.1%-0.5% of primary lung malignancies. [37] [ref93} Pleural synovial sarcomas tend to occur at a younger age (mean, 25-39 years; range, 9-50 years) than do pleural malignant mesotheliomas (mean, 65 years). There is no sex predilection.
