In TWiTCH, no strokes were identified in patients treated with either transfusions (n=61) hydroxycarbamide (n=60), but three transient ischemic attacks occurred in each group.  TCD velocities were 143 cm/s in children who received transfusions and 138 cm/s in those who received hydroxycarbamide.
