Answer

Answer

In addition to its use in monitoring therapy in patients with diabetes, hemoglobin A1c has been used as a screening tool for diabetes. Indeed, since January 2010, the American Diabetes Association has promoted the assay in its practice guidelines as the preferred test (using a criterion of ≥6.5% NGSP units). [15]
