Problems to be considered in the differential diagnosis of testicular torsion include the following:

  • Torsion of testicular or epididymal appendage

  • Epididymitis, orchitis, epididymo-orchitis

  • Hydrocele

  • Testis tumor

  • Idiopathic scrotal edema

  • Idiopathic testicular infarction

  • Traumatic rupture

  • Traumatic hematoma
