Answer

Answer

A study by Katz et al showed that panic attacks and panic symptoms in individuals with a major mood disorder meeting criteria from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition (DSM-IV), may carry an increased risk of suicidal ideation. This ideation may progress to suicide attempts, especially in individuals with prominent catastrophic cognitions. [25] An example would be a woman with agoraphobia who becomes progressively more isolated and depressed by her inability to leave her home.
