Note the following possible complications:

  • Megaloblastic anemia

  • Leukopenia

  • Thrombocytopenia

  • Angular stomatitis

  • Glossitis

  • Nausea and vomiting

  • Diarrhea

  • Hyperpigmentation

  • Low-grade fever

  • Elevated serum homocysteine
