The occurrence of GVHD as a complication of HCT is positively correlated with increasing age of the patient. Grafts depleted of T cells reduce the risk of GVHD but increase the risk of graft failure. The addition of cyclosporine along with methotrexate is the standard GVHD approach for matched siblings. [75] However, very few comparative data exist, and no data have reported an alternative approach to be superior to this regimen.
