  • Diabetes/insulin resistance
  • Diethylstilbestrol exposure in utero [29]
  • Alcohol consumption
  • Ionizing radiation exposure
  • Exposure to dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene (DDE), a metabolite of the insecticide dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT)
  • Socioeconomic class
  • Night shift work
  • Poor cardiovascular health
  • High bone density
