Answer

Answer

Anesthesia

All patients undergoing uvulopalatopharyngoplasty require general endotracheal anesthesia. Given that many patients with obstructive sleep apnea are overweight and have cardiovascular disease, they should be evaluated by the anesthesia team prior to surgery so that a stepwise approach to airway management is planned preoperatively.
