Answer

The adverse effects of prolonged or excessive electromagnetic radiation vary with the wavelength. Wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation are as follows:

  • Gamma rays - Less than 0.01 nm

  • X-rays - 0.01-10 nm

  • Ultraviolet C - 10-280 nm

  • Ultraviolet B - 280-320 nm

  • Ultraviolet A - 320-400 nm

  • Visible light - 400-760 nm

  • Infrared - 760 nm to 1 mm

  • Microwave - 1 mm to 30 cm

  • Radio waves - Centimeters to meters
