  • Anticoagulation (mainstay of therapy) - Heparins, warfarin, factor Xa inhibitors, and various emerging anticoagulants

  • Pharmacologic thrombolysis

  • Endovascular and surgical interventions

  • Physical measures (eg, elastic compression stockings and ambulation)
