Arrangements should be made to have a pressure-reducing mattress available for the postoperative period to reduce the risk of immediate recurrence or dehiscence. If urinalysis and urinary culture findings (ie, nitrites, leukocyte esterase) confirm the presence of a urinary tract infection (UTI), appropriate treatment should be provided.
