Answer

Answer

At this time, no guidelines address the testing and treatment of minimal hepatic encephalopathy in patients with cirrhosis. The neuropsychometric tests typically used to diagnose minimal hepatic encephalopathy can be time-consuming and cumbersome to perform in a busy physician’s office. Similarly, no consensus has been reached on how physicians should approach the issue of the fitness of patients with minimal hepatic encephalopathy to drive automobiles. [81]
