Answer

Answer

Patients with grade 1 hepatic encephalopathy typically demonstrate decreased short-term memory and concentration on mental status testing. However, grade 1 hepatic encephalopathy may be difficult to diagnose. The presence of disorientation and asterixis are characteristic of grade 2 hepatic encephalopathy. [26, 30]
