Answer

The FDA approved plecanatide, a GC-C agonist, in January 2017 to treat chronic idiopathic constipation in adults. [8] Approval was based on two randomized controlled trials that demonstrated significant improvements in stool frequency, stool consistency, and time of bowel movement compared with placebo. [8, 9]
