The following are among hypersecretory states that may, uncommonly, cause peptic ulcer disease:

  • Gastrinoma (Zollinger-Ellison syndrome) or multiple endocrine neoplasia type I (MEN-I)

  • Antral G cell hyperplasia

  • Systemic mastocytosis

  • Basophilic leukemias

  • Cystic fibrosis

  • Short bowel syndrome

  • Hyperparathyroidism
