Patients with fulminant and subfulminant hepatitis may present with the following:

  • Hepatic encephalopathy

  • Somnolence

  • Disturbances in sleep pattern

  • Mental confusion

  • Coma

  • Ascites

  • Gastrointestinal bleeding

  • Coagulopathy
