Multidrug regimens may consist of metronidazole and a third-generation cephalosporin or a fluoroquinolone, such as the following:

  • Ceftriaxone

  • Cefotaxime

  • Ciprofloxacin

  • Levofloxacin

Multidrug regimens include cefepime plus metronidazole, as well as ceftazime plus metronidazole.
