The World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO) indicates that ulcerative colitis is more likely when the test results are positive for pANCA and negative for ASCA antigen [57] ; however, the pANCA test may be positive in Crohn disease, and this may complicate obtaining a diagnosis in otherwise uncomplicated colitis.
