Other problems to be considered include the following:

  • Sepsis

  • Diabetic ketoacidosis

  • Closed head trauma

  • Malignant hyperthermia

  • Encephalitis

  • Cerebral malaria

  • Cerebral hemorrhage

  • Amphetamine and cocaine toxicity

  • Strychnine poisoning
