Reduced cardiovascular reserve may result from the following:

  • Advanced age

  • Beta-blockers

  • Calcium channel blockers

  • Diuretics

  • Cardiovascular drugs - Interfere with the cardiovascular responses to heat and, therefore, can interfere with heat loss
