Complications of hypertensive encephalopathy result in neurologic deficits from hemorrhage and strokes, which can progress to death. Complications of hypertension include the following:

  • Coma

  • Death

  • Stroke

  • Nephropathy

  • Myocardial ischemia or infarction

  • Nephropathy

  • Retinopathy

  • Peripheral vascular disease
