Specific tests for infectious diseases or other conditions may also be warranted, based upon clinical suspicion, such as the following:

  • Viral cultures

  • Tuberculin skin testing or QuantiFERON-TB assay

  • Rickettsial antibodies

  • HIV serology

  • Adenosine deaminase levels

  • CEA levels

  • PCR
