If embolization has occurred from intermittent atrial flutter, findings are related to brain or peripheral vascular involvement. Other complications of atrial flutter may include the following:

  • Embolization (arterial)

  • CHF

  • Severe bradycardia

  • Myocardial rate–related ischemia
