Patients with heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) may present with unusual characteristic sequelae, including the following:

  • Venous limb gangrene

  • Bilateral adrenal hemorrhagic infarction

  • Skin lesions at injection sites

  • Acute systemic reactions following an intravenous heparin bolus
