Immunofluorescence of immunoglobulin G, immunoglobulin M, immunoglobulin A, and complement demonstrates a positive lupus band test. This occurs predominantly in the basement membrane and is found in the clinically uninvolved non–sun-exposed skin. Treatment for discoid lupus includes steroids and antimalarial drugs such as hydroxychloroquine. [32, 33]
