Diagnostic imaging modalities that may be considered include the following:

  • Plain radiography (mainly skull and mandibles [craniofacial survey], pelvis, femurs; as clinically indicated)

  • Ultrasonography (neck and thyroid; ovarian and pelvic; as clinically indicated)

  • Computed tomography (CT); as clinically pertinent

  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI); as clinically pertinent

  • Radionuclide bone scanning
