Answer

Symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis include lower back pain and stiffness after inactivity. The disorder can be totally asymptomatic or severe and crippling. Often, symptoms of back disease are lacking in patients with iritis who are HLA-B27 positive, and not all patients who are HLA-B27 positive develop arthritic spinal or sacroiliac disease. [15]
