An increased rate of growth hormone deficiency was found in SWS, as identified from a registry of 1653 patients. [52] Comi et al found central hypothyroidism in 2 children out of 83 (2.4%) with SWS and brain involvement, indicating that central hypothyroidism is much more prevalent in such patients than it is in the general population.
