This treatment group includes patients with late latent disease (>1 y) and those in whom the CSF was not examined in latency.

Treatment consists of the following:

  • Benzathine PCN G at 2.4 million U intramuscularly once a week for 3 weeks (3 doses )

  • Aqueous benzyl PCN-G or procaine PCN-G at a total of 9 million U intramuscularly in doses of 600,000 U/d over 15 days
