The PRIMS study included 16 pregnant women who received corticosteroids; no adverse effects were noted in either the patients or their children. [43] Corticosteroids (eg, methylprednisolone) may be safe in pregnancy. However, use of these drugs in pregnant patients should be considered carefully and avoided unless deemed necessary.
