What information should patients be given for prevention of corneal abrasions in Bell palsy (idiopathic facial paralysis) (IFP)?

To prevent corneal abrasions, patients should be instructed about eye care. They also should be encouraged to do facial muscle exercises using passive range of motion, as well as actively close their eyes and smile.
