Bladder dysfunction in MS may consist of failure to store, failure to empty, or a combination of the two. Interventions for failure to store include the following [129] :

  • Scheduled voiding

  • Limiting fluid intake in the evening

  • Using anticholinergic medications (eg, oxybutynin)

  • Eliminating diuretics (eg, caffeine)

  • Injecting onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) into the bladder [130]
