Zandbergen et al found SLSEP and neuron-specific enolase (NSE) to be correlated with unfavorable outcomes. [80] Patients who were unconscious at 72 hours and had an abnormal SLSEP had poor outcomes. Even after 24 hours, the predictive value of the SLSEP was very strong.
