Answer

A study involving a single epidural injection of steroids and local anesthetics given in conjunction with a standard regimen of oral antivirals and analgesics was found to yield a modest improvement in zoster-associated pain for 1 month as compared with treatment without steroids. [88] No effect in preventing PHN was noted.
