Conservative therapy includes the following:

  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)

  • Wet dressings with 5% aluminum acetate (Burrow solution), applied for 30-60 minutes 4-6 times daily

  • Lotions (eg, calamine)
