Which organisms are associated with guttate psoriasis?

Multiple other infectious agents have been implicated, although episodes of guttate psoriasis attributed to them are not as frequent as those attributed to streptococci. Associated organisms include the following:

  • Bacteria -Staphylococcus aureus

  • Fungi -Malassezia, Candida

  • Viruses – Human papillomavirus (HPV), varicella-zoster virus, [24] retroviruses, human endogenous retroviruses (HERVs) [25]
